This natural Hessonite Garnet, traditionally known as Gomedh, carries a warm Brownish Orange colour that brings to mind cinnamon bark, forest honey and the glow of late-afternoon sunlight. Hessonite is cherished for this distinctive earthy-orange character, quite different from the brighter reds often associated with garnets. At 3.05 carats, this cushion-shaped gem has a pleasing presence for a ring while retaining the rich, grounded look that makes Gomedh so recognisable in Indian jewellery.

A particularly reassuring feature is the report of no indications of any enhancement. Buyers who appreciate natural gemstones often value this recorded state, as the colour and visible character are presented without enhancement. Minor inclusions are noted, which may be seen in natural Hessonite Garnet and are simply part of the gem’s individual formation. The stone is accompanied by certification from Nine Gems Lab, documenting its identity and reported enhancement status.

Its softly rounded cushion outline would suit a well-made gold ring, especially in yellow gold, where the Brownish Orange hue can appear wonderfully harmonious and warm. It could also become a striking centre for a classic pendant designed to keep the gemstone close and uncluttered. At Nine Gems in Bengaluru, we would suggest a setting that lets the Gomedh remain the focus, with thoughtful proportions rather than excessive ornamentation.

In Vedic astrology, Gomedh is traditionally associated with Rahu. Rahu is linked with worldly ambition, unconventional paths, sudden changes and the ability to navigate complex situations. Within Jyotish practice, Hessonite Garnet is worn to seek steadiness in Rahu-related periods and to support clearer judgement amid confusion or distraction. This natural Gomedh may therefore hold special appeal for someone selecting a gemstone for Rahu with both astrological intention and a love for its deep, honeyed colour.
